Ted Talk

When I began watching the Ted Talk, I paid no attention to my body language. But, once the speaker asked the audience to analyze their body language I noticed that mine was more of a low-power pose: sitting with my arms and legs crossed. Obviously having this posture in the comfort of my apartment isn't a big deal, but it made me think about what my posture is the majority of the time. I definitely agree with the speaker when she says sometimes you have to fake it 'till you make it. That goes for a lot of aspects in life, not just your confidence. You can convince yourself that you are happy when you aren't in the best mood the same way you can power pose and train your thinking and become more confident. I think I tend to sit back and let things happen instead of being assertive and a proper self-advocate. I plan to start practicing power poses, and I hope to get to the point where that self confidence is purely second nature.
